Rada Tilly.... Province of Chubut, at the South, at some kilometers to the Province border of Santa Cruz, to 14 Km of Comodoro Rivadavia city... to the South... RADA TILLY.
The access to our town, as much from the south as from the north, is for National Route N° 3. Recumbent on the sea, among imposing hills, Punta del Marques, to the south, and Punta Piedras, to the north, the Village offers him 3 km. of beach, excellent panoramic views from miradors strategically located on both tops; with urban constructions pleasant, besides hotels, campings, places for play and visits, services, trade, and mainly an alive, expectant nature, where the only modification was the man's same establishment.
The descending skirts of the surrounding hills, are formed by marine accumulations of successive revenues of the sea on the continent (or diverse episodes of risings), it is the "Form Patagonia", conformed by sediments of marine origin deposited during the Tertiary (35 million years ago). The demonstration of it, is the existence of fossils, (with a thickness that increases toward the coast) that are observed in this formation, characteristic of marine atmospheres, as, hedgehogs, snails turritelas, and the ostrones or ostreas (maximum ostrea) that deserve a special paragraph. Is normal, carrying out one traveled by the high sectors that surround the Village, to meet with numerous valves of oysters, and in some cases with whole oysters in position of life. This species is strongly "inequivalva", that is to say, its valves differ as much in size as in form.

The waves, the wind and the scarce rains work unfailingly to modify the landscape and the coast. It is possible to appreciate phenomenons of mass removal, activity of the cliffs, erosion retrocedente, eolic erosion.
Canyons, loamy earth, low gross, plateaus that cut themselves in the sea, configure an atypical landscape,
different, but as beautiful as the mystery of their origins.
Rada
Tilly, born institutionally, on July 24th, 1948 as area of tourist reservation; the first Commission of
Development was conformed by law N° 794 of April 15 1970. At the present time it is Municipality of
2nd. Category, from January 1° 1980.
Rada Tilly, name with origins in Spain, Francisco Everardo Tilly y Paredes, Marquis of the Casa Tilly, Spanish marine, lover of the sea and dreamer, it was boss of operations of an expedition that to the control of the Brigadier Juan Gutiérrez
de la Conchal, it combatted and it beat the Portuguese in the Rio de la Plata, during the years 1794 and 1795.
Rada Tilly have a populational establishment of 6068 stable inhabitants (census of
2001), quantity that you increment in the summer season, since residents from
Comodoro Rivadavia, they usually move to the Village during this time, to what visitors of other points of the country add and of the world.
The life in the Village be very peacefully, the population develops activities in trade, public, private or professional
distributions, at local level, as long as a great number makes it in Comodoro Rivadavia, where the oil and managerial activity of diverse types, good development.
On the other hand the children and adolescents can act entirely in Rada Tilly, in educational establishments of initial level, EGB and polimodal, sport activities in private clubs and in the Municipal Gym, and the cultural face also covers with the Shop of Municipal Art and other private entities (musical conservatories, English academies, handmade shops, etc.)

Patagonian
Flora and Animal sample, variety of marine fossils and lithic, and anthropological remains of aboriginal cultures.
An appropriate conditioning of the sample, locates the visitor in the typical
patagonian steppe and in the marine ecosystem.
A copy of the Cave of the Felines (located in the central plateau of Santa Cruz), it overcomes us behind 13.000 years, to revive aspects of a culture of which few vestiges are.

Art Workers Shop
A learning place and development for children and adults in the diverse shops, as that of painting, drawing, ceramic, fabric in loom aborígen, literary, photographs, tapestry, ceramic with lathe.
Periodically they are organized samples of the works, through the Direccion
Municipal de Cultura, at local and regional level.

Viewpoints at Punta del Marqués
Five are the panoramic points on the Punta del Marqués, from which can observe a diversity landscapes in which sea, beaches, hills and population are conjugated. 7 Km is traveled from the beginning of the ascent. The height of the Hill is of 164 meters, and the penetration of the Punta del Marqués in the sea is 2,60 Km. It was inaugurated February 1° 1986. To the foot of the south side, on a Platform of stones is the Site of "One Hair" Marine Wolves, declared by Provincial Law, like Tourist Natural Reservation and Unit of Biological Investigation. The permanency of the marine wolves in the Punta del Marqués, is permanante during whole year, but in more number they populate the post between August and December. The access to the Viewpoints is by Av. Av. Fragata Sarmiento, to south.

Rivadavia City. Continuing with the trip, lowering the hill, You will go by the
"Coast Road President Perón" that connect with Comodoro Rivadavia.
SPORT ACTIVITIES

Paddle

Landyachting, privileged sport in the area, since Rada Tilly, possesses the appropriate characteristics for
this sport. The 3 kms. of beaches, a width between 400 and 600 mts in full low
tide, and the preseverant Patagonian Wind, helps the speed from the yachts; everything constitutes
a colorful show among sand, sea, wind and landyachts, enjoyed as much the pilots as the
visitors. This sport is practiced during the whole year, but the biggest possibilities are presented between October and January, to be the windiest time, and it is also the moment
for the Austral , National or South American Championship.
Paragliding
From the way to the top of Mirador del Marques, You can observe to the intrepid
local Icaros drawing the radatilian skies.
The activity is taken ahead by challengers of the patagonian air that take advantage the days of very soft wind
slowest than 17 Km/h
Their deployed wings painta multicolored rainbow in an unforgettable landscape.
The activity is practiced mostly among the months of October to May.
